People are being told to stay clear of an area where firefighters have worked through the night at a farm fire.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was in a 40m by 30m (131ft by 98ft) barn on Norwood Hill Road in Charlwood.

The fire service said crews were continuing to deal with the 鈥渟ignificant鈥 fire in a commercial storage unit after being called at about 00:35 BST.

Residents in the area were also reporting low water pressure, which is thought to be linked to the fire fighting.

Sutton and East Surrey (SES) Water said the company was "working closely" with the fire service and hoped to restore supply to normal levels as soon as possible.

An SES spokesperson said: 鈥淲e're aware of reports of a limited number of customers experiencing low pressure in Charlwood.

"Inspectors are working closely with Surrey Fire and Rescue following their attendance to a fire on Northwood Hill Road to ensure customers' water supply is restored back to normal as soon as possible."

'Water carriers used'

A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Our crews have been working through the night, and we currently have 30 people on scene, with five fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a water carrier.

"Everyone is accounted for."

The service said water carriers were used in rural areas to ensure there was enough supply.

In a, formerly Twitter, at 2:06 the service said there were eight engines at the scene.

Group commander Matt Harper told 大象传媒 Radio Surrey it was too early to determine the cause of the fire.
