A five-year-old boy is fighting for his life after a crash involving a car and a lorry on a motorway.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the boy and a 38-year-old woman who were travelling in a Vauxhall Astra were taken to hospital after the crash on the M67 eastbound at about 14:45 BST on Monday.

GMP said the child鈥檚 injuries were "life-threatening". The woman's injuries were described as "non life-threatening".

A 39-year-old lorry driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
