No trains will run between Crewe and Shrewsbury for a second day on Thursday.

People have been advised to check before travelling, due to week-long repairs to a railway bridge in Shrewsbury.

Bus replacement services are available.

A fallen tree damaged overhead lines between Rugby and Lichfield Trent Valley on Thursday morning, affecting services between the stations.

Trains from London Euston have faced delays as they are rerouted around the problem.

Further north, a tree also blocked the line near Uttoxeter, although that was cleared after 09:00 GMT.
