Man charged with 40 child sex offences
A man has been charged with 40 child sex offences, including nine counts of rape.
Greater Manchester Police said the force received reports concerning the welfare of a child in March.
A 57-year-old man from Little Hulton, Salford, has been charged with numerous offences, including raping and assaulting a child under 13.
He is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.
The charges are:
- Nine counts of rape of a child under 13
- One count of attempted rape of a child under 13
- Two counts of causing a child under 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity
- Three counts of causing/inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- Fifteen counts of assault of a child under 13 by touching
- Four counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration
- One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13
- Four counts of indecent assault on a child under 16
- One count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 15
