Police are investigating after the "unexpected" death of a woman in her 40s.
Officers were called to an address in Hillary Close, Heybridge on Wednesday morning.
It followed concerns about the woman's welfare being raised with Essex Police.
The force said: "Her death is being treated as unexpected and officers have launched an investigation."
"This investigation is at a very early stage and we’re progressing a number of lines of inquiry," a spokesman added.
