A woman has been arrested after an unattended dog attacked another dog while it was being walked by its owner.
The incident happened in Harrow Street, Hartlepool, at about 17:30 BST on Monday.
A taser was used after an officer, who took hold of the unaccompanied dog who was attacking the other animal, suffered a minor injury.
Cleveland Police said a woman, aged 27, had been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control in a public area.
The animal was seized and removed to an appropriate facility while enquiries continue, police said.
