Attempted murder probe after man seriously injured
An attempted murder investigation has been launched after a man was found with serious head injuries.
Essex Police was called to Charnwood Avenue, Chelmsford at 21:00 BST on Friday.
The force said a man in his 20s had been seriously assaulted and had potentially life-threatening injuries but was in a stable condition in hospital.
Det Insp Guy Turnball said it was believed to be an isolated incident.
"We know this incident will be concerning to people and we are working round the clock to understand what has happened and find the person responsible," he added.
