An investigation is under way after a water main burst in Bradford city centre, flooding a number of streets.
The alarm was raised at about 07:00 BST on Sunday after members of the public spotted the leak in Bridge Street.
Yorkshire Water sent a repair team to the area, which is currently fenced off as part of work on a pedestrianisation and cycling scheme in the city centre.
Water supplies to residential properties were restored by midday and the company said it was now trying to establish the cause of the burst.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: "It was a seven-inch main which went early yesterday morning.
"We were on site all day yesterday. Our first concern was that people had their water back on, which we did by midday.
"We are now assessing the damage and seeing what needs to be done in terms of repairs and what caused the burst in the first place."
