Man fined after being caught with knuckleduster

A man caught with a knuckleduster while wearing a balaclava and body armour has been fined.

Zaveian Brown, 40, of Kensington Park in Easton, Bristol, was pulled over by Wiltshire Police while driving along Box Hill in Corsham on 13 June. Officers found the weapon in the passenger door.

Brown pleaded guilty to having an offensive weapon and was fined 拢692 at Swindon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

PC Adam Neish said: "A knuckleduster is designed to cause injury and is banned under the Offensive Weapon Act 2019."

In addition to the fine, Box was ordered to pay a surcharge of 拢277 and 拢85 in costs.

PC Adam Neish continued: "I鈥檇 like to reassure the local community that proactive officers will continue to carry out stop and searches in the area and action their concerns as effectively as possible."
