Two men are in custody after armed police responded to shots being fired from one car at another.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed nobody was injured, and two men were arrested following the incident on the A39 Dunster Straight near Minehead, Somerset, on Thursday.

"Officers were called just after 18.00 to reports that the occupant of a car had fired shots at another vehicle," the force said.

Officers seized an air pistol and pellets, as well as a car.

Two men, one in his late teens and another in his 20s, were arrested at a property on Summerlands Road in Minehead just before 20.00 BST the same night.

The pair were detained on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
