A motorcyclist has died in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, after a crash on Monday night

A man has died in a crash between a stationary van and a motorcyclist in Stoke-on-Trent, ambulance officials said.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 23:41 GMT on Monday night to Federation Road in Burslem.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and an emergency doctor attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man who was the motorcyclist.

"Ambulance staff immediately administered advanced life support to him at the scene.

"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased."
