Three people hurt following four-vehicle crash

Three people have been taken to hospital after a four-vehicle crash on the major road on Thursday.

Paramedics were called to the scene at 08:31 BST after reports of a collision on the A12 southbound between junction 28 and 27 near Colchester.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said three ambulances attended the scene.

The people who were injured were taken to Colchester Hospital for further care, the spokesperson added.

A spokesperson from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: 鈥淔irefighters were called to a road traffic collision on the A12 between junction 28-27 at 08:31.

鈥淥n arrival, crews reported there had been a collision involving four vehicles.

"Nobody was trapped inside their vehicles and crews worked to make the scene safe by 09:00.鈥

A spokesperson from Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound A12 near to the football stadium shortly after 08:35am today.

"Part of the central reservation was also damaged."
