Four people have been arrested as part of an investigation into cannabis production in the Harehills area of Leeds.

Warrants were executed at four addresses across Leeds on Wednesday morning, West Yorkshire Police said.

Three individuals were arrested in Leeds, while a fourth person was apprehended in Coventry.

Officers said all were being held on suspicion of offences including conspiracy to produce a Class B drug and money laundering.

Insp Alastair Nicholls said the arrests were part of a wider strategy to "disrupt organised criminality" in Harehills.

“The action taken this morning is the culmination of months of hard work by the neighbourhood policing team behind the scenes," he said.

"We are committed to stopping those who profit from causing harm to others and working with local residents and partners, such as Leeds City Council, to make long-term positive change for the community of Harehills."
