Speeding car leads police to cannabis farm
A speeding car led police to a huge cannabis farm inside a County Durham loft.
The suspicious vehicle was spotted by officers in Stanley on Monday night, before it was abandoned in Park Road.
As officers searched the car they spotted a man leaving a nearby property carrying what appeared to be a large number of cannabis plants.
After the man fled, along with four others from the property, police went inside and uncovered more than 100 being grown.
The plants have since been destroyed and two stolen vehicles were seized at the scene, according to a spokesperson for Durham Constabulary.
An investigation is under way and no arrests have been made.
