Part of the A34 will be closed over the weekend to allow for the next phase of resurfacing works.

The road between Milton and Chieveley in Berkshire will shut from 21:00 BST on Friday to 06:00 on Monday.

It is the second of up to four weekend closures to allow work to take place.

There will be a diversion in place but National Highways has warned it could add about 50 minutes to journeys.

As well as resurfacing, safety barrier renewals, white lining and litter picking will also take place.

A signed diversion for all traffic will be in place via the A40, M40 and A404/A404M.

The A34 is set to be closed again over the weekend of 7-10 June.

National Highways said there was also a possibility it could be shut again between 5-8 July.
