Village post office closure temporary, says firm

The Post Office has reassured upset residents that a branch closure in a Rotherham village is only temporary.
Almost 450 people signed a petition following the news the post office in Knollbeck Lane, Brampton, would close at the end of July.
John Healey, the MP for Rawmarsh and Conisbrough, also drafted a letter to the company, urging them to reconsider.
The firm said the closure had been unplanned due to the current postmaster's resignation.
Hundreds of people had called on the firm to "think again", raising access concerns for vulnerable and disabled residents, the Local Democracy Reporting Service reports.
A Post Office spokesperson apologised for any inconvenience.
“We are working hard to try to restore service to this community as soon as possible," they said.
The firm said the vacancy would be advertised on its website in due course and advised people to use alternative branches, such as the one in Wombwell, in the interim.
