School lockdown amid air weapon fears
A school went into lockdown after reports of teens brandishing air weapons nearby.
Staff at King James I in Bishop Auckland called police at about 13:00 BST on Friday to report sightings of two teenagers armed with air weapons in the field behind the school buildings.
Lockdown procedures were put in place while officers conducted a search, but no trace of anyone was found.
The school has been contacted for comment.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: "The school instituted procedures to safeguard pupils and officers attended to carry out a search of the area.
"Police carried out an extensive search but found no trace of the youths and informed the school."
