Man suffers serious injuries after fall from height

A man has been taken to hospital with "serious injuries" following a reported fall from height in East Sussex.

Sussex Police said officers assisted emergency services following the reported fall in Warrior Square, St Leonards at about 08:55 BST on Wednesday.

The force said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.

Images from the scene show an air ambulance in attendance as well as fire engines.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "SECAmb was called shortly after 08.30 BST to reports a person had suffered a fall from height in Warrior Square, St Leonards.

"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex. The person was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton."

A statement from the air ambulance charity said: 鈥淥ur crew arrived on scene at 09:35 BST, where they worked with SECAmb, Sussex Police and Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to help treat the patient.

"They then transported the patient to hospital by air.鈥
