Alert after river pollution discharged from drain

Pollution has been discharged into the River Arun at Horsham from a surface water drain, the Environment Agency (EA) has said.
Officers who went out to the incident and are now investigating and said their focus was on an industrial development.
An EA spokesman said they knew a "substance" got into the river and their investigation found "the pollutant discharged into the river from a surface water drain".
The EA has not said what the pollutant is.
They spokesman said: "Although the discharge has now been stopped, we continue to work closely with Southern Water to reduce environmental impacts."
He said anyone with information about the incident, which happened on Thursday, or anyone with concerns about pollution in any waterway could call the .
