A 61-year-old man has been arrested after 132 cannabis plants were found during a raid on a house.

Police searched the property on Eastwood Drive in Donnington, Telford, on Tuesday after concerns were raised by members of the community.

The man was arrested at the property on suspicion of the production of cannabis, and remains in police custody.

West Mercia Police said there was also evidence to suggest the electrics had been tampered with.

"We are pleased to have disrupted this illegal enterprise which will be linked to an organised criminal gang whose actions reap harm on the communities we are here to protect and serve," said PC Emily Kyle.

"Shutting down this grow shows we will not tolerate criminal activity within our communities, and that we will act on information provided to us by the public."
