Four men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of modern slavery and forced labour offences.

Lancashire Police were called to a house on Church Street, Blackpool, after concerns about people were living in the derelict property, which is being renovated.

Officers said several people were taken away from the premises to "ensure their welfare" on Wednesday.

The men, aged 44, 47, 52 and 46, and the 53-year-old woman were being questioned on suspicion of modern slavery, servitude and forced labour offences, the force said.

The 52-year-old man was also held on suspicion of immigration offences.
