Thousands expected to visit River of Light events
Thousands of people are expected to visit Liverpool鈥檚 annual River of Light festival over the coming week.
This year's free events will take place on the Pier Head and near The Strand until Bonfire Night on 5 November, and will focus on the theme of play.
Organisers said the famous waterfront would be turned into a playground and also explore the 鈥渄eeper鈥 meanings of play.
Events will also mark Diwali, known as the 鈥渇estival of lights鈥, which will be celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains next week.
National and international artists have been involved in creating 12 installations, which will also be adapted for visitors with additional sensory needs, between 16:00 and 17:00 on both weekends.
