Body found in river after man went missing

Police searching for a missing elderly man have recovered a body from a river.
Hugh Edgecombe, 86, was last seen in Long Melford on Wednesday.
Police said a body had been found in the River Stour, between Glemsford and Sudbury, after a search which involved members of the Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue.
No formal identification has yet been made but the search has been called off and the man's family and coroner have been informed.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said today: 鈥淪adly, a body was found in the water between Glemsford and Sudbury this morning.鈥
Mr Edgecombe鈥檚 family said they would like to thank everyone in the community for their support.
