Woman dies in hospital after being hit by car
A 57-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire.
The incident, involving a black Vauxhall Corsa, happened on Brambling Road at about 17:20 on Saturday.
The woman was was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she later died.
The driver of the Corsa was not injured.
The road was closed for about seven hours while investigations were carried out.
Sgt Gemma Blackadder said: "Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are.
"I would also urge anyone in the area with dashcam or ring doorbell to check their footage and pass anything of note on to us."
