Police have thanked "Good Samaritans" for helping out at the scene of a four-vehicle crash in North Yorkshire in which several people were seriously hurt.
Three women had to be treated in hospital following the collision on the A1079 near York, which happened at about 13:25 BST on Sunday.
The women were all travelling in a white Citroen C3 when the accident happened near Grimston Bar roundabout, according to North Yorkshire Police.
Offficers said they "would like to thank several members of the public who stopped to help".
The other three vehicles involved in the crash were a grey Vauxhall Astra, a red Vauxhall Astra, and a white Renault Clio, a force spokesperson said.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident, they added.
Anyone who saw what happened, or who had dashcam footage from the scene, has been asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
