Man who stole car and crashed it into wall jailed

A driver who stole a car and crashed it into a wall two days after Christmas has been jailed for 18 months.
Marcus Oultram, of Meerbrook, Staffordshire, crashed a stolen Vauxhall Astra on Novi Lane in Leek, Staffordshire, on 27 December.
Police said Oulton, 32, was seen running away from the scene and they arrested him at his home later that day.
He had suffered facial injuries in the collision and police took him to hospital for treatment but he assaulted an officer on the way there.
Oultram, who was disqualified from driving at the time, pleaded guilty to a number of offences:
Dangerous driving
Driving while disqualified
Aggravated vehicle taking
Assault on an emergency worker
Failing to stop at the scene of a collision
Failing to provide a specimen
Driving without insurance
Use of threatening words and/or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress
He was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 6 June.
