A police investigation is under way after a man was shot.
The attack happened at a house in Aspinall Crescent in Salford, at 21:30 BST on Sunday.
Police arrived at the scene and found an injured man who was then taken to hospital with what officers described as "serious injuries".
The street was cordoned off while forensics teams carried out their investigations.
Greater Manchester Police said it did not believe there was a wider threat to the public.
A spokesman for the force said: "Officers are currently at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.
"Extra patrols will be in the area for reassurance while the scene is still active, and over the coming days."
