Man in hospital after machete attack in early hours
A man was left seriously injured after being attacked with a machete in Wakefield.
Police were called to Eastmoor Road at 00:27 GMT on Saturday morning following reports of an assault.
Officers say the 40-year-old victim is thought to have been chased by two people, before being assaulted and then attacked with a machete.
He was taken to hospital where he was being treated for injuries, which were thought not to be life-threatening, West Yorkshire Police said.
The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
