A12 reopens after medical emergency incident
A stretch of the A12 in Essex has reopened in both directions after a "medical emergency" caused rush hour tailbacks, according to police.
National Highways earlier reported seven miles of congestion on the dual-carriageway southbound between junctions 17 and 16, south of Chelmsford.
The agency said traffic was slowly beginning to get back to normal.
Essex Police said it received a call from the East of England Ambulance Service requesting assistance on Thursday morning.
The road reopened at 09:30 GMT.
