Man charged with rape in cathedral grounds

A man has been charged with rape after an attack in the grounds of Hereford Cathedral.

Christopher Filbrandt, 31, of Eign Mill Road, Hereford, was accused in relation to an incident on Friday 12 July, West Mercia Police said.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The force said previously officers were called to the scene at about 03:00 BST.
