Investigation after woman's 'unexplained' death
An investigation is under way after a woman's body was found in Thornaby.
The woman was declared dead at the scene after police were called to Gilmour Street at 06:30 GMT on Monday.
The street was cordoned off and a blue tent put up place as officers began their investigations.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the death is being treated as unexplained, and a post-mortem examination will take place.
She said the woman's family had been informed, adding: "Our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time."
