Man seriously injured in reported stabbing

A man has been seriously injured in an assault in Plymouth.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to Cambridge Road in the city on Monday afternoon after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said it was called at 14:36 GMT and sent an air ambulance, a land ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a critical care car to the scene.
The police said: "Ambulance service attended to provide medical treatment to one man who sustained serious injuries."
At 17:45 police said officers remained on the road manning cordons around the area.
They asked anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
