A teenager and a man were seriously injured after they were both thrown from a motorbike that police believe was stolen.

Both males, aged 15 and 21, were taken to hospital following the crash in Scunthorpe at about 01:00 GMT.

The A18 on Kingsway, between the junction of Brumby Wood Lane and Church Lane, was closed for several hours afterwards.

The 21-year-old has since been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

Humberside Police said it is thought the driver lost control of the BMW R1150 GS while travelling along Kingsway.

It had been reported as stolen on Tuesday, according to officers' inquiries.

Anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage should contact the force.
