Appeal after man 'punched and kicked' by teens

A man sustained serious injuries after being assaulted by a group of three teenagers in Devon, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man in his 20s was taken to hospital after the incident on New Road in Barnstaple at about 23:00 BST on 21 September.

It said the victim was walking with others when he was assaulted by a group of people who "punched and kicked him".

The force said its inquiries were ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.

In a statement, officers said the three teenagers were described as white males, aged about 17 to 18, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build.

They added one was wearing a red/burgundy hooded jumper and had brunette hair with a short fringe.
