Motorcyclist dies after crash on A27

A man has died following a serious crash on the A27.

Sussex Police said it was called to the Pevensey bypass at 06:20 BST on Thursday, following a crash between a car and a motorbike.

A 54-year-old man from Hastings, who was driving the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The force added that officers remain at the scene and the road is likely to remain closed until later in the day.

Drivers have been told to avoid the area where possible.

Police are now searching for the driver of a light coloured vehicle who was travelling East on A27 Stone Cross at the time of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed it or has dashcam footage is being encouraged to contact the police with information.
