Humberside Police said a gun was believed to have been fired at about 22:45 BST in the Cooper Road area on Monday.
The pair received "medical attention" for their injuries, which were not thought to be life threatening, the force said.
An investigation is ongoing and a scene guard remains in place. Detectives said those involved were "known to each other".
The force said an armed response unit was sent to the scene following reports of the suspected shooting and officers were conducting a "thorough search of the area" including carrying out house to house inquiries.

"Locals to the area can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days whilst we continue our inquiries.
