A 29-year-old woman accused of murdering a 65-year-old man is due to appear in court next year.

Lauren Harris, of no fixed address, was expected to attend a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday morning via videolink from custody.

She did not attend the hearing as she was said to be unwell.

She has been charged with the murder of David Wilcox on 20 November at a property in Bay View Road, Colwyn Bay, Conwy county.

Her defence barrister Simon Killeen told Judge Rhys Rowlands that she was feeling unwell so the hearing continued in her absence.

The judge said the provisional trial date was 20 May next year but that there would be a pre-trial hearing on 1 March.

Following Mr Wilcox's death, a large area of Colwyn Bay was cordoned off by police, including parts of the town centre and a slip road of the A55 expressway.

A 33-year-old man from Colwyn Bay and a 42-year-old man from Widnes, Cheshire have been released on conditional police bail pending further investigation.
