Cocaine and cannabis with a combined estimated street value of €1.57m (£1.32m) has been seized at Dublin Airport.

Three separate operations on Wednesday led to the discovery of 1.3kg (2.8lbs) of cocaine worth about €91,000 and a total of 74kg of herbal cannabis worth about €1.4m.

Three people were arrested and charged by An Garda Síochána (Irish police).

They have appeared in court.

A man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the cocaine seizure after arriving on a flight from Lisbon.

He had started his journey in Brazil.

A man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s were detained after arriving on two separate flights.

They both began their journeys in Thailand.
