A fire at a factory on a Wolverhampton industrial estate was started accidentally, the fire service says.

About 40% of the mezzanine floor and roof were involved in the blaze on the Blakenhall Industrial Estate on Moorfield Road, Blakenhall.

The fire service, which was called at 15:50 BST on Tuesday, said it involved a factory premises believed to be used for manufacturing plastics and metals.

At about 03.30 BST on Wednesday, it was confirmed that no hotspots, smoke or smouldering were found.

Nobody was believed to have been injured in the blaze, which was tackled by about 30 firefighters.
