Luxury vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has introduced a policy to support staff going through the menopause.

From changes to workwear and flexible working, to additional breaks and access to fans, JLR said the new policy would be available from day one of employment.

Feedback from workers and diversity networks helped develop the policy before it was agreed jointly with unions, the manufacturer added.

Other policies included support for pregnancy loss, extended adoption and surrogacy leave, shared parental leave along with a doubled paternity pay.

JLR has centres across the UK including Wolverhampton, Gaydon, Solihull and Manchester.

The company said employees had the right to seek support at any time, with the schemes aiming to assist a safe and inclusive workplace.

Claire Parker, head of diversity and inclusion at JLR, said the benefits of people coming to work and feeling supported could not be understated.

"We will continue to engage with colleagues, our employee-led networks and trade unions to ensure we are constantly evolving and improving our policies based on feedback," she added.
