Man shot in 'targeted' attack outside shop

A man has been shot and seriously injured outside a shop in Liverpool.
The 39-year-old man was shot in the leg outside a Go Local shop on Scotland Road, Kirkdale, just after 21:30 BST on Thursday.
Merseyside Police said the gunman, who was dressed in black, made off on foot in the direction of Woodstock Street.
Det Insp James Halpin said officers believe it was a targeted attack and an investigation had been launched.
'Targeted attack'
"Fortunately, the man鈥檚 injuries are not life threatening and while I understand this is a shocking incident for the local community we believe this was a targeted attack," he said.
鈥淚 would encourage anyone who knows about this incident or has any information about firearms in their local community to come forward and tell us what they know.
