A man has been charged with multiple offences after another man was hurt in a fight in a Leicester street.

Emergency services were called to Fosse Road North just before 23:30 BST on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said a man in his 30s was found with injuries including a cut to his arm. He was taken to hospital but later discharged.

A 40-year-old man from Leicester, who has been remanded into custody, is charged with wounding with intent and will appear at the city's magistrates court on Wednesday.

He has also been charged with possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a knife, robbery and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

The force said a knife had been recovered from the scene.

A stretch of Fosse Road North was closed during the night and reopened on Tuesday morning.
