Woman in 80s hurt in collision with police car

A woman in her 80s has been injured after her car collided with a police car on blue lights.
The woman sustained a head injury after her white Suzuki and the police vehicle crashed at about 10:00 BST on North Road in Darlington.
The woman was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment, the force said.
No-one else was hurt.
The road was closed in both directions near Morrisons for police inquiries but has since reopened.
The force said it was investigating what happened and urged any witnesses to come forward.
