Police officer charged with shop theft
A Devon and Cornwall Police officer is due in court after being accused of theft.
The force said PC Christopher Spence, 43, has been charged following an incident at a shop while he was off duty in Bideford on 12 February.
PC Spence, who is based in North Devon, has been suspended from duty, a police spokesperson said.
He is due to appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Friday, the force added.
