Man hit by van in critical condition in hospital

A man in his 80s has been hit and trapped by a van, leaving him seriously injured.

The man was struck by a Ford Transit on Bibby鈥檚 Road at its junction with Bispham Road, Bispham, at about 11:50 BST on Friday.

He is still in hospital and is in a critical condition, Lancashire Police said.

Sgt Paul McCurrie said the collision had left the man with "extremely serious injuries".

Work was ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened, he added.

Anyone with information or footage of the incident is asked to get in touch with the force, which is appealing for witnesses.
