Airport power failure causes flight delays

Flights have been delayed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport after a power failure affected air traffic control.

Both departures and arrivals were impacted by the outage, with some flights due to land being diverted to Manchester.

An airport representative said the issue had been resolved and aircraft operations had now resumed.

Coaches have been arranged for customers whose flights were diverted and passengers are advised to contact their airline for updates.

In a Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: "Our engineers have resolved the earlier Air Traffic Control power issue, and aircraft operations have now resumed.

"There may be delays to your flight, please consult your airline for any further updates.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
