Man, 49, dies after being hit by car in Cumbernauld
A 49-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Cumbernauld.
The incident, involving a Citroen C4 car, happened in the Lanarkshire town at about 08:10 on Sunday, at the junction of Greenfaulds Road and Locksley Road.
The man was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died later. The car driver was not injured.
The road was closed and re-opened around 13:50.
Sgt Chris McColm, of Lanarkshire Road Policing, said: 鈥淥ur thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
鈥淲e are asking anyone who saw what happened or who might have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation ."
