TfW not involved in strike action, operator says
- Published
Transport for Wales (TfW) said the reason none of its trains will run between Shrewsbury and Birmingham was due to overhead line work and not strikes.
Industrial action had been launched by train drivers from 16 operators over pay and working conditions.
The disruption prompted Birmingham New Street bosses to cancel services entirely for overhead line works, TfW said.
A TfW spokesperson said as a result its services would terminate at Wolverhampton.
Aslef members belonging to other operators are taking strike action on Friday, with an overtime ban expected to disrupt services until Tuesday.
