A wanted man has been arrested in connection with a string of aggravated burglaries in Nottingham.

The 50-year-old was arrested by Nottinghamshire Police on Wednesday night after officers attended and searched a property in Sheffield.

He was wanted for a series of offences between 10 January and 29 March and is now in custody.

The offences include a man forcing his way into properties and stealing valuables from elderly and vulnerable people, with victims sometimes threatened with a knife, police said.

An urgent Crimestoppers appeal was issued to find the suspect, who has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, robbery, and theft offences.

Det Sgt Alana Scott said: "We now have a man in custody being questioned thanks to a great police team effort to track down a suspect in connection with a series of serious incidents.

"Our investigation remains ongoing."
