Police were called to reports of a stabbing close to the Pirate Play Park, off Hucknall Road, Bulwell, at around 23:55 BST.
A 19-year-old was playing basketball when he was approached by three masked youths who stole his bag and phone, officers said.
The teenager ran away but suffered a stab wound to his body and a cut to his face.
